Granada Science Park: a place to awaken scientific curiosity

The Andalusia-Granada Science Park is the first interactive science museum in Andalusia (Spain). It was inaugurated in May 1995, currently occupying 70,000 m². It is located in a central area of ​​Granada and has become one of the main tourist attractions of the city.

Macroscope Building
It is the main building. It consists of a large skylight that imitates the orography of the Sierra Nevada, and the following exhibition spaces are distributed from the entrance hall:

Journey to the Human Body Pavilion
This Pavilion focuses on one of the topics that arouse the most interest and concern in the human being: health and everything related to life. The Pavilion is dedicated to the dissemination of current knowledge about the health and life sciences, linking the different sciences and techniques involved in their study.

Al-Andalus and Science Pavilion
The Al-Andalus and Science Pavilion presents a vision of the Arab scientific legacy and the different contributions of the Andalusian civilization. The museum resources, permanent and temporary exhibitions are distributed between its two floors that also house the different thematic areas, the training rooms, the library or the multipurpose room. It has about 4,500 square meters.

Culture of Prevention Pavilion
This pavilion is dedicated to the importance of improving the perception of risks at work and in everyday life. The content of the pavilion is developed through the use of close and understandable elements and materials, such as simulators, signs, audiovisual media, etc.

Explore the Museum Loft Room
It is a space dedicated to the little ones, with the idea of ​​facing the exploration of interesting and unusual objects that invite to make hypotheses about their nature, function, history, operation, etc.

Techno-Forum Pavilion
It is a temporary content space, dedicated to new technologies, innovation and art.

Pavilion for temporary exhibitions Leonardo Da Vinci
This pavilion is dedicated to large exhibition productions such as "SOS. “The Science of Preventing", Antarctica or Dinosaurs.

Pendulum Foucault Building
With these facilities the museum was inaugurated in May 1995. It houses a large part of the contents in its permanent exhibition halls: Biosphere, Eureka, Perception and Explore. The Planetarium is also located in this building.

Eureka Room
It is dedicated to Physics and Mechanics. In it, you can experiment with physical phenomena and with interactive problem solving.

Perception Room
The room is linked to the world of the senses. Light and sound and the relationship of these phenomena with the way that human beings perceive it are the protagonists of the modules

Biosphere Room
It is structured on the basis of a basic storyline: life on Earth. The Biosphere is seen as a large ecosystem full of small interrelated systems.

Explore
Space designed for ages between 3 and 7 years. It offers experiences, sensations and games that encourage the curiosity of the little ones and help them to get to know each other and better understand the world around them.

Pavilion for temporary exhibitions
It has 1,000 square meters for the museum's temporary exhibitions.

Digital Planetarium
With a capacity for 80 people, this installation has a 10 m dome and 120 projectors, which allow to recreate a night sky with more than 7,000 stars.

Outside
Outside the museum there are 27,000 m² dedicated to green areas that house the botanical routes, the Mental Gymnastics tent, the Astronomy garden, the Marie Curie square or the dynamic sculptures.
