Dear guests, in this post we are going to talk about the Rio Chillar. It is a hiking route to do in the municipality of Nerja.

Nerja is a municipality in the province of Malaga and belongs to the Axarquia region. It is famous for its beaches, for the Caves of Nerja, also for a television series filmed in Nerja. But today we are going to talk about the hiking route also famous in the town.  

Frist of all, you have to take the N-340 road to Nerja in the direction of Almeria and after crossing the bridge over the river, until you reach the third roundabout where you reach the street Julio Romero and continue along the Avenida de la Constitución. You have to look for the public car parks in street Mirto and in Almijara-Flamingo area.

When you park, head towards the river, the first thing you come across is the drinking water station that supplies Nerja. Next, you will find the first waterfall, then some passages called "Los Cahorros" and many more erosions made by the river. After 8 kilometres you will reach the ruins of an old well construction, called "La Presa".

It is recommended to arrive with good equipment. A pair of well-fitting shoes that cover the ankle. You have to  protected from the sun with a cap.You have to  carry water, food and drinks with sugar in your backpack. The rest of the time, bring a lot of desire to enjoy with friends or family.
